Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF)
Challenge:
In 2017, AIReF was mandated by the spanish Government to conduct an in-depth Spending Review in Spain. This project aims to provide information to governments and parliaments to make budget decisions based on objective data and empirical evidence.
As part of this process, very important expenditure items for citizens were analysed, such as expenditure on medicines, university scholarships or active employment policies. ViewPoint took on the challenge of designing a specific communication strategy to disseminate the results of these studies among citizens.
Strategy:
- Design of an ad hoc strategy for the project
- Elaboration of specific contents for social media
- Elaboration of communication materials
- Communication training for those responsible for each study
- Organisation of press conferences and meetings with the media
- Media relations
- Monitoring and reporting
Result:
We managed to make known the “Spending Review” process among the citizens, we reinforced the image of an independent organization of AIReF and we generated a wide debate in the social networks on the need to revise certain items of public expenditure.
